Equipment Supports //
Klute is your go-to source for equipment supports, including bus supports, switch stands, PT stands and lightning arresters. Our expertise extends to crafting box bay structures and other specialized supports for your project. Leveraging state-of-the-art CNC and laser technologies, we precision fabricate components in-house, ensuring seamless assembly and erection. Our structures are made from quality steel components, such as hollow structural sections (HSS), wide flange beam, channel, angle, pipe and plate.
Dead-End and Static Masts //
Klute can fabricate HSS, wide flange and tapered tubular dead-ends and static masts. Our custom 60-foot press brake can bend up to ¾” thick steel to create dead-ends big enough for 500kV and 765kV substations. Because of our focus on quality, we test fit all tapered tubular dead-ends and static masts so that field erection goes smoothly. In addition, our in-house non-destructive testing staff ultrasonically inspects all full penetration welds before and after galvanizing to ensure perfect welds.
Transmission Line Poles //
Our capabilities include wood pole equivalents and transmission line poles. Our typical projects are custom-engineered poles in small batches. With our 60-foot press brake, we can build pole sections up to 45,000 pounds, with total heights greater than 130 feet. Products include galvanized and weathering finishes. We offer base-plated or direct-embedded structures with coal tar epoxy coating below grade.
Stairs, Railing, Platforms and Grating //
Klute can provide access and grounding solutions for your substation project, including switch platforms, building access platforms, staircases, control building platforms and transformer pits. Platforms are made with wide flange beam or channel, with railings made of pipe. While we specialize in steel grating, we can also order fiberglass grating as needed.
Engineering and Detailing //
Our in-house engineering and detailing teams use the most advanced 3D modeling software to provide accurate calculations and blueprints for your project. Because engineering is onsite with our fabricators, we are able to optimize designs and provide real time solutions during fabrication. The team includes licensed Professional Engineers (PE) that can stamp in almost every state.
Anchor Bolts //
Klute partners with many well-regarded anchor fabricators across the country to provide headed anchors, templates, anchor cages and post-installed anchors. We also offer embed plates and channels to complete your project.
Galvanizing //
Klute benefits from having multiple galvanizing partners. While we’ve worked with our primary galvanizer since 1998, we have strong relationships with several other galvanizers to ensure we can always meet your needs. Our galvanizers are ISO 9001 certified, and can provide dulling, extra mils and CorroCote™ for embeds.
